Purcell Baptist Church

Purcell Baptist Church was organized September 10, 1930. Helen Smith who came by letter from the Asbury Church was one of the charter members. Representatives from the New Providence and Oronogo Baptist Churches were present. Brother F. C. Medearis was the first pastor and served until December 21, 1930.

In December 1947, under the leadership of Brother Lloyd Kallenburn, the church purchased the Camp Crowder barracks to be added for extra classrooms.
