Josie Breece was my mother. She was born just outside of Joplin in a covered wagon. Shortly after her birth her father died or left. They traveled around, but the 1910 Census shows her with her mother and stepfather, Samuel Horrocks, on Royal Heights Road.

The Jones family was living in Mercer Co. Missouri from around 1859 to after April 1861. son William Albert was born there. son Joel Jones born in or near Joplin in 1863. Not sure why the family traveled there in the middle of the war. Charlotte and 7 children were in New Town (near Avoca) in 1965. What is Williams middle name and what happened to him? not sure if he made it to Iowa. He was a blacksmith by trade. He and Charlotte were both born in Ohio as was there parents according to 1860 Mercer co cennsus. thier sons Isaiah P Jones b 1848 and Edward Marrick b 1850 Swan twnshp Hocking Co. Edwards youngest daughter had not a lot of info to pass me. She said a red-headed irishman cane to this county and someone died in prison of dissentary during the civil war.
