Note: This is the last part of the article that I have in my files. I only transcribed the part with my ancestor King.
WITH THE SOBER SIDES
It was back in the days when the vote was being taken on the proposition of a court house. Jasper King was ag'in good and strong and felt pretty strongly on the subject. Sober had started to walk home when Jasper King, who was just leaving town for his farm drove by with a cheery "get in and ride?"
"Certainly, I'm glad to get a chance to ride. I am awful tired. I've done a hard day's work, working for the court house."
"What, are you for the issue?" demanded King.
"Yes sir, body, boots and--"
"Get out! Get right out of here! Any man that wants to load the county down with debt can't ride with me," and Sober got down and hoofed it.
