The O.E.S. Auxiliary will meet at 2:30 Thursday at the home of Mrs. Harry Tholborn, 421 S. Madison. Assisting the hostesses will be Mrs. Bill Bishir, Mrs. Chas. Jackson, Mrs. W.E. Stone, Mrs. F.G. Smart, Mrs. Roy Berrian, Mrs. E.E. Wood, Mrs. John Potter and Miss Fern Lewis.

Mrs. Earl Van Hoose will arrive home soon from Bell, Calif., where she has been visiting her daughter for the past several weeks.

Supt. H.E. Newell of the water company, accompanied by Mrs. Newell, investigated the high water conditions down Stone county way yesterday and today--with no particular attention to fishing, of course.

Mrs. Paul Courtright an d4-year-old daughter, Paula Darlene left yesterday for Kansas City where the little girl is to undodo a check at Mercy hospital.

Mrs. and Mrs. Doc McCorkle and the former's mother, Mrs. Virginia McCorkle of Phoenix, Ariz., spent yesterday here as guests of Supt. and Mrs. D.R. McDonald. Mr. McCorkle is Mrs. McDonald's cousin and Mrs. Virginia McCorkle, who is 90 years old, is her aunt.

Beverley Bunce continues steadily to improve, after his recent illness.

Word has been received here by Mrs. C.M. Mankerof 16 South Pennsylvania of the birth, at Denver, Colo., on Monday, May 19th, of a great-granddaughter. The parents are Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Cox. Mr. Cox is Mrs. Manker's grandson and is the son of Mrs. J. Gilbert Cox of Denver, the former Miss Florence Manker of this city.

Townsend Organizer to Speak
S.A. Miskimins, state organizer for the Townsend movement, will speak at a meeting of the Webb City Townsend club to be held Friday night at 7:30. A pie auction and supper will be held in connection with the meeting.

J.C. Palmer, naval veteran who now is on terminal leave with his discharge to become effective June 25th, left today for Olate, Kan., to enter the naval hospital there for treatment of a back injury.

Dr. and Mrs. C.S. Bradbury, and children, Bob and Donna, spent yesterday in Kansas City. Dr. Bradbury, as chairman of the Webb City Red Cross chapter, attended a conference of chapter chairman at which a discussion of instituting a national blood donors program was had.

Mr. and Mrs. Norman Cockrell and sons Pat and Mike of Jefferson City will arrive here Sunday to spend a week with Mrs. Cockrell's parents, Supt. and Mrs. D.R. McDonald. The children will undergo tonsilectomies next week at Jane Chinn hospital. Mr. Cockrell is assistant superintendent at the Algoa Intermediate Reformatory.
